La Icy Box è una società attiva da anni nella produzione di box e backplane sia per sistemi home office che di livello professionale. Gli HD includono componenti meccanici ed elettronici molto sensibili e quindi facilmente danneggiabili con urti accidentali. Coloro che devono trasportare regolarmente dati immagazzinati su HD tra un pc e l’altro necessitano quindi di un sistema sicuro e protettivo, in modo particolare se gli HD sono più di uno ed a contatto tra loro.
A tal fine la ICy Box ha progettato questa pratica ed economica custodia in silicone, compatibile con tutti i dischi da 3,5” (IDE e SATA) e con la possibilità di impilare più custodie per l''archivhiazione. Il guscio è costituito da due parti: la più piccola può essere facilmente rimossa per la connessione. La custodia presenta inoltre diverse aperture per evitare il surriscaldamento durante il funzionamento.
Il guscio in silicone fornisce non solo protezione contro interferenze meccaniche ma isola acusticamente il disco in modo che non trasmetta vibrazioni e quindi rumore.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
